Hi! My name is Tashawna but I go by Tay. I am a full-time Virtual Assistant helping entrepreneurs and small businesses that want to pass off their background tasks to be able to focus more on what they want to do.

 

I started my businesses in the middle of the pandemic and haven't looked back since! I have a Bachelor of Science in Accounting with a minor in IT so I REALLY love numbers. I am a furry mom! I have 2 cats and 1 dog. They are all rescues!

I always thought I wanted to be an accountant in a corporate office to start off, work my way up to a managerial position, then give my 2-weeks’ notice so that I can start running a business full time. This was what I imprinted in my mind as the only way to get to the point of owning a business.

 

So, 10 days after graduating, I started working at an office as a full-time internal accountant. I felt like I was on the right path. It wasn’t until the pandemic started and I was able to have more time to myself to think, did I realize that was not the case. I was developing health issues because of all the stress I was enduring. I didn’t know that was the cause of it until a year into the position. I had to sit myself down and ask myself if it was worth my health to get “ahead” in the company.

The obvious answer was no! I started researching what I can do with the skills that I have when I happened upon a video on virtual assistance. I looked deeper into freelancing and virtual assistance and it excited me! It was a leap, but I decided to quit my job to pursue freelancing full-time. Once I quit, I noticed my health began improving and I felt like I had more energy to do the things that made me happy again. Things started off slow, but I was able to take time for myself to re-evaluate what was most important to me so I can continue moving on the path that best fits me.
